Your privacy is critically important to us. At Take a Note App ("we", "us", "our"), we have a few fundamental principles regarding your privacy and data protection.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your personal information when you use our website, software, and services ("Services"). We are committed to complying with the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) in Indonesia and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) internationally.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign up via Google or Email, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to create your unique account.
User Content
Detailed notes, folders, and tags you create. This content is encrypted and stored securely to provide the service.
1.1 Guest Users (Local Storage)
If you use the app without logging in ("Guest Mode"), all your data is stored strictly on your local device using Local Storage. We do not have access to, nor do we store, any of your guest notes on our servers.
1.2 Registered Users (Cloud Storage)
When you create an account, your data is securely stored in our cloud database (Supabase) to enable synchronization across devices.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain our Services.
- To improve, personalize, and expand our Services.
- To understand and analyze how you use our Services (Analytics).
- To send you emails regarding updates, security alerts, and support messages.
3. Data Storage & Security
We use industry-standard encryption protocols (TLS/SSL) to protect data in transit and at rest. Your data is stored in secure data centers. While we implement safeguards designed to protect your information, no security system is impenetrable.
4. Your Rights (UU PDP & GDPR)
Under the Personal Data Protection Law of Indonesia and GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access: Request copies of your personal data.
- Rectification: Request correction of any information you believe is inaccurate.
- Erasure: Request that we delete your personal data ("Right to be Forgotten").
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with our Services and as described in this Privacy Policy. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our active databases.
